Updated: September 1, 2021
Main article starts here.
The native language first learned by children is very important because they use it not only to communicate, but also to think and to learn. Some children who have overseas ties attend school in Japan and forget their native language or enter a "double-limited" situation in which neither their Japanese nor native language are of a sufficient level. This sometimes makes it hard for them to communicate well with their parents. The native language classes provide a forum in which children in such situations can learn their native language and interact with other children with the same cultural background.
Native language classes in Spanish, Portuguese, Chinese, Korean, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Mongolian, English, and other languages are available in Hyogo Prefecture.
